GANDINI JUGGLING

THE WORLD-FAMOUS GANDINI JUGGLING WILL BE JOINING US FOR THE DURATION OF SUMMER STREETS 2020.

Formed by world-renowned jugglers Sean Gandini and Kati Yla-Hokkala, Gandini Juggling has for over 30 years pushed the boundaries of what juggling is and can be. Merging circus and dance they have created over 30 indoor and outdoor productions and have performed over 6,000 shows throughout the world.

As part of Summer Streets Festival Gandini is thrilled to present 3 unique films: The Academy, LIFE, and Krap Yrubsnif.

THE ACADEMY

Premieres on Summer Streets Youtube Channel - 7pm Wednesday 15th July

Gandini Juggling presents some lockdown fun: juggling every permutation of 5 clubs, balls and rings, the classical juggling props whilst wearing all the colourful items in their wardrobe to lead to geometric happiness.

LIFE

Premieres on Summer Streets Youtube Channel & Facebook Live - 7pm Tuesday 21st July

A homage to the late Merce Cunningham’s choreographic universe. Derived from the hypothetical question: “What if Merce had choreographed juggling?”. Gandini has spent 3 decades being inspired by Cunningham's work and this international choreographic research showcases dancers and jugglers performing together in spirit yet geographically apart in response to the global pandemic.

Performers include:

Kim Huynh & Jose Triguero, Paris, France

 Benjamin Beaujard, Stockholm, Sweden

Sean Gandini & Kati Yla-Hokkala, London, England

 Erin O'Toole - Glasgow, Scotland

Jennifer Goggans - New York, USA

KRAP YRUBSNIF

Premieres on Summer Streets Youtube Channel - 1pm Friday 24th July

Sean Gandini and Kati Yla-Hokkala play with time in the context of filming juggling patterns. Performing patterns in reverse to create hypnotising shapes which respond in spectacular ways to the original composition.
