Get involved

Summer Streets Festival is a place where local, national and international artists all come together into one, inclusive and friendly festival programme. A huge part of the Summer Streets experience comes in the form of workshops and opportunities for audience members to participate in artistic activities.

Since 2014, Summer Streets has collaborated with many local community groups and schools, working with artists to produce installations for the festival site or creating music performances for our audiences to enjoy. Over the years we’ve hosted workshops in everything from beatboxing and bellydancing, to playing the spoons and learning opera in an hour.

From theatre-making to creative writing, kids activities through to kite-making - the workshops change for every festival, but that’s the way we like it.

Workshops and interactive projects are an important part of Summer Streets so take a look at our festival programme and get involved.

Feel free to have a go - dip your toe in to a new experience: most of our workshops require no experience and are aimed at introducing people to new activities and igniting new passions.
